JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Landscaping Manager

Reporting to : Chief Engineer/General Manager







Scope of Position:



Bestowed with the responsibility of directing and monitoring of all the operations on the golf course, herbal garden and the grounds to ensure that all these areas are perfect conditions at all times



Specific Duties



Duties include supervising routine maintenance the golf course, herbal and flower gardens, play grounds, pathways and lawns. You will be concerned with the environmental health of the golf course and he sporting needs of the player. Specific duties will include activities such as:



Ø Planning, scheduling and supervising construction and maintenance of greens, tees, fairway bunkers and associated support facilitates

Ø Implementing fertilizer and pesticide programs and giving Agronomic directives.

Ø Maintenance and pruning of trees and shrubs and the grass surfaces and gardens.

Ø Preparing and supervising mowing and irrigation schedules.

Ø Keeping inventory and maintenance of grounds machinery.

Ø Preparing the respective grounds for play or competitions.

Ø Cleaning of streams, dams and other water features on the golf course/grounds and landscape.

Ø Motivating, Training and Evaluation of grounds team staff.

Ø Preparing all work logistics and budget provisions for the team

Ø Plumbing, drainages maintenance and insect fumigation

Ø Will provide guest service standard training for the grounds personnel to provide efficient and quality service for our guests and fellow employees.

Ø Will be able to complete guest room repairs as needed.

Ø Will interact with other departments to assure guest satisfaction.

Ø Maintains all maintenance records and blueprints of the hotel.

Ø Will control issuing purchase order numbers for material purchases.

Ø Will coordinate the process for annual maintenance.

Ø Will obtain price quotations and fills out requisitions for parts and supplies.

Ø Basic English language communication skills in order to fully comprehend the job assignment; read and understand manufacturers’ instructions to adhere to safety warning.

Ø Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare mathematical calculations without error.

Ø Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write in English clearly

Ø Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word 2000 and Microsoft Excel programs.



QUALIFICATIONS:



* Degree holder, preferably in Ornamental Science & Landscaping, Horticulture or Agricultural Engineering
* Minimum 5 years experience or equivalent in similar responsibilities at an upscale luxury brand, 5-star property.
* Proven effective development and communications skills
* Highly organized, goal and results oriented person.
* Analytical skills a must combined with creativity and initiative.
